Transparent Outer Mould With Snap-Fit Design

  • Transparent mould : Due to transparency, it is possible to check the distance between phase to phase & phase to earth cores before encapsulation of the joint. Also, this feature helps during the encapsulation to ensure uniform penetrations of the PU compound in the mould.
  • Snap fit Design : It makes it possible to re-open the joint before pouring.
  • Sealing cap : This cap seals the pouring gate of the joint and helps faster back filling of earth after completion of the joint.

The compound undergoes a high degree of polymerization on curing, which accounts for its outstanding electrical, mechanical and thermal properties. It forms a hydrophobic mass on curing that has extremely low water absorption. The material is quick setting and it reduces back-filling time. It can also be used in the most adverse climatic conditions, and it reduces the man-hours taken up in installing the line.

High Voltage Self-amalgamation Tape

This specialized tape is provided in the kit to insulate ferrule region. It has a robust earth-continuity-connection. Special long barrel LV ferrules are available on request.

Cold Shrink

Brief

Cold shrink tubing, like its Heat shrink cousin, is used to terminate, splice and provide environmental seals on cables. It comes with a removable plastic core that keeps the tubing stretched to allow the cables to be fitted. It also contains active memory that causes the tube to shrink once the core is removed.

Some Advantages over Heat Shrink Technology

Cold Shrink tubing outperforms Heat Shrink technology in four fundamental ways,

  • There is no need for a heat gun/torch to shrink a Cold Shrink tube. Shrinking happens just by pulling a string.
  • The Cold Shrink technology is skill-neutral. It is extremely easy to apply. Like heat shrink technology, there is no need to take care of aspects like flame temperature, over heating of tubing, uniform shrinking of tube etc.
  • Cold Shrinking tube is made from Silicone which has far superior thermal and anti-tracking properties as compared to Polyolefin (i.e., Heat Shrink material).
  • Cold Shrink tube exerts pressure on the substrate it is shrunk (i.e., On application the cold shrink tube develops a firm grip on the cable core). This property helps to provide excellent environmental seals on the cable cores. In case of Heat Shrink tube, environmental seal is very weak. And therefore, sealing mastics have to be extensively used for this purpose.

Brief

For terminations anti-tracking, heat shrinkable tubings provide high tracking resistance; excellent weather and UV resistance; and superior protection against moisture and industrial air borne contamination. Our high voltage heat-shrinkable cable joints provide all the materials that are required to connect, re-insulate, re-shield and re-jacket both ends of the cable.

POLYSEAL joints and termination has stress control tubing with high permittivity value (>=15). It redistributes the concentrated electrical field over a wide area and thus having a considerable dilution in its concentration.

We offer heat-shrinkable Cable Terminations and joints for 6.6 KV to 33 KV XLPE cables.
